Game Design Mentoring Sessions
Hands-on experience taking your idea from concept to testing.
Greetings aspiring Game Designer...
Do you have an idea for a 'serious game' that just needs a nudge to get it started? Looking for a way to digitise your concept and get feedback from a few first testers?
At Amble we love the magic of story games, and the way this unique form of game helps people explore parts of themselves they might not realise exist.
You will be working with at least two Amble Studio game designers, who will provide:
- Feedback and guidance on your concepts
- Ideas for structuring your concept to help you build it out
- Training in a free technology you can use to digitise a few different structures of story game
- A first partial playthrough to give you early feedback
- Advice on recruiting and seeking feedback from future testers
- An invitation to join our game design community
If you’ve never worked with us before here’s a sense of how your game design might progress with us:
- 1 hours: Scoping and understanding your vision, apply the Story Game Canvas
- 2-4 hours: Get into detail on one element and get to a first (partial) playtest
- 3-6 hours: Iterate on first playtest, playtest again
- 6 hours onwards: Further iteration, refinement and polish, support to completion, connect to networks, advice on publishing where applicable
$200 per hour.*
